My child was put on the waitlist and declined to stay on it. We have since received an email from admissions with a waitpool update and, just today, an email to the class of 2025 and parents congratulating them on acceptance and informing them about fall sports. Someone should really tell them to pay better attention to who they’re emailing.

Perhaps your child was accepted. Perhaps they gave priority to those who didn't want to stay on the waitlist.

Or, you signed up for the updates from the Class of 2025 welcome page by mistake.

Of course I didn’t sign up for class od 2025 updates! What a strange response.

Does the email start with “Greetings Parents and Class of 2025 Athletes”? I have a rising senior and received that email today.

It does. Why would a rising senior get that email. So strange.

They probably sent it to everyone whose email address was on file - by mistake.

The process is so sloppy and inefficient that of course there will be many mistakes. And it wreaks havoc on the planning at other schools when their class and course numbers are fluctuating this far into the summer.

This is only happening because of the immense pushback from the initial proposal.

COVID disallowed TJ from using its old process as there was no way to administer a mandatory exam during the worst of the pandemic. The arguments over the new process are the reason why things are pushed back so late.

Congratulations, you played yourselves.

Or, perhaps, they shouldn't have prioritized previously unplanned changes to the admissions process during a pandemic.

Just a thought, when you're tallying up the self-goals scored by Brabrand et al.

Academy of Loudoun did an in person exam over two days.

Fcps held in-person PSAT last fall. They absolutely could have held the test. It was an excuse.

But don’t derail this thread with yet another fruitless debate over the changes.
