Yorktown senior makes Olympic team in record fashion

Did you see that a men's D3 swimmer from Emory also made the team? That's a first apparently, so that was cool.

Andrew was Class of 2015 from TJ (and Class of 2011 from Longfellow).

Congrats to the Wakefield girls!

My girls rowed for Yorktown and won all kinds of titles. It meant nothing. One, maybe two, teammates were semi-recruited by colleges.

But, hey, if any of those Wakefield girls make the Olympic rowing team come back and let us know.

Meant nothing to you. It isn't all about full-ride scholarships to Ivy League schools and Olympic teams.
But I understand your intent was actually to belittle any achievement by Wakefield and keep Wakefield "in its place."

DP. Perhaps off topic but…Ivy League schools don’t do athletic scholarships.

When I was a swimmer back in the day your club team was much more important than your high school team. Is that not still the case?

I lived in the OG of swimming in Mission Viejo CA.....they came to MV for the swim club coach not our high school (even though kids from. Around the world came to our area, lived with host families it wasn’t because of our High School.

Yes, definitely, but Torri had some great swims representing Yorktown, so it probably deserves a mention.
