We are not the only ones wear mask at outdoor playground

Some of unmasked adult family member are helping their kids on the playground, so close to my kid and other kids. I feel I am stupid and they are selfish. But you know what , 80% of kids and adults still wear masks at outdoor playground, so we are not the odd ones that dcum says. Many families still wear masks outdoor for the sake of unvaccinated kids.

It is a YOU problem. Sorry you don't believe in science.

Cuomo just unmasked NY schools. The dominoes are falling. It was bound to happen. Masked kids in blue states only while cases low nationally was never going to last.

Portland, OR resident here. Most kids at playgrounds we go to are masked. Most adults, as well. An unmasked kid or adult no longer clears the equipment, but it is not terribly common yet. My son and friends all still wear masks when playing outside. Age range is 10-13. All the high school kids that run cross country wear masks while cruising through our neighborhood, too.

Exercising with masks is dangerous.

Don't the guidelines say masks are required outdoors?

I could honestly care less about anyone masking. I assume they have an underlying condition or are anti-vax or are suffering a mental illness like anxiety. Regardless they can do what they like and it’s no big deal to me.

80% where? I would say 95% of adults and kids don’t wear masks anymore outside (thankfully). I have my older kids wear a mask if the playground is crowded. We are vaccinated so no, we don’t wear masks.

I’m in portland too and only in the well off neighborhoods is this happening.

Also portlanders are mentally ill overall and have covid derangement syndrome. Like people are really crazy here.

Unfortunately the masks have become a symbol of ideology rather than a biological tool to prevent the spread of droplets. At this point it seems to be a way to announce your intent to vaccinate your young child.

We carry masks. I wish you were my neighbor OP. We would be friends.

Even without a vaccine, the risk of contracting COVID is incredibly low. My 5 yo wears a mask inside and we don't wear one outside.

Yeah, covid didn't make people in Portland mentally ill, they were like that to begin with. It just amplified it.

Where is the guidance that says unvaccinated people shouldn't wear masks if in close quarters breathing heavily and shouting outside?
