They are a powerful lobby because all the limo liberals shriek about involuntary commitment and treatment and would rather hand out 'care kits'. |
Oh, was the gun used in the crime legal and registered? |
The real question is not this impoverished and lame hairsplitting, but instead, Is DC awash in guns because of the Roberts Court and Scalia and the Republican Party? And the answer is unquestionably yes. Republicans have blood on their hands. How can there be any question? The whole world looks at Republicans making these stupid arguments about legal and not and whether guns kill people and just laughs at their stupidity. Ban handguns — like Canada does — and this shooting wouldn’t have happened. Scalia enabled this. Roberts enabled this. All for votes for tax cuts for the rich. Gun violence is inherently political because it is possible only due to political decisions. To the troll who will come and say “don’t politicize this” — You can’t separate shootings from politics. |

Canada essentially bans handguns. (Except at ranges, tightly controlled)
Australia essentially bans handguns. Russia — darling of far right Republicans — essentially bans handguns. The United States could ban handguns too. But we don’t, because Charles Koch and his friends spend billions to push pro-gun, pro-death laws, because guns get votes for tax cuts that enrich Charles Koch. |
That's not the real question LOL. Ban handguns would need to be national and we would need seizures, draconian punishment, to crazily enforce borders / smuggling and printing your own at this point. |
Not good enough. A gun didn't fly around on its own and do this, a worthless urban parasite with free will *chose* to commit this horrible outrage. |
You don't live here anymore, Karen. You opinion doesn't matter. Full stop. |
This is not a gun problem. |
Actually, everyone in our country is entitled to have an opinion about what goes on in our nation's capital city. |
| This is a gun problem and it’s a crime problem. I livevin the area. what a tragedy. I walked around the area and there were lots of police on bikes and cars patrolling. But it’s too little too late. Heart goes out to this poor family. |
Then you should definitely stay there |

"You don't live here anymore, Karen. You opinion doesn't matter. Full stop."
I thought we agreed that the term "Karen" is both misogynist and racist. Anywho, this story obviously hits a little close to home for some, who are on the defensive. Too bad, so sad. You're making your choice to continue living in DC. You don't even know how much it's wearing on you. When you finally leave, you'll realize the toll it has taken. |
It is in a city or place whete many people have demonstrated that they are not capable of restraining themselves from using them to commit crimes. |
We all agree that violent crime is bad and 4-year-olds getting shot is an unacceptable tragedy. What the rest of us are wondering is why you seem to insist that means we all have to make the same choice in response to it that you did, i.e., leave town. You didn't want to live here anymore, we get it. What does it matter to you if we do? |
Not to totally sidetrack this already sidetracked thread, but: White people calling each other "Karen" is about the farthest possible thing from racist as you can find. |
