treating U10 travel that way is a good way to ensure the kid quits by U13 |
Usually the ones who should have never been in it to start |
And you can tell because you think your omnipotent. Check your ego. |
| Every club should have one and only one travel team for each age group all the ones who get cut should play in the clubs rec program comprised of B team thru D team. |
Coaches of sports that start older love that attitude and are happy to pick up the athletes fed up with soccer because of troglodyte coaches. |
so every club should declare bankruptcy? |
What age group is your DC? Come play for me and I'll yell at and belittle your kid if you would like and see how long their passion for the game lasts. |
Reading comprehension not your thing? OP was pretty clear - this was a coach losing it at his entire team, the other team and the ref. One kid or a couple of kids - sure, maybe they shouldn’t be in travel soccer or he is being tough as a specific strategy in those individual kids. Not good coaching - but maybe all he ever learnt himself. When it is the entire team, the other team and the ref - at that point it isn’t anything to do with the kids - this is a problem with the adult. It is the stupidity of this that is so |
Was that sarcasm? Why cant there be different levels of travel with different expectations? Why make the player pool so small? So many reasons why this is far from a good solution. Perhaps its time players learned that 90 mins of training 2-3 a week is not sufficient for development and a coach expects you to work on your own and watch games. It’s really mismanaged expectations that causes a lot of these problems. Absolutely carp coaches exist like OPs. Every time i hear about a coach like this, Everyone knows its a gfr coach at the younger ages. |
Preposterously stupid comment. If you don’t enjoy it first, you won’t ever be good enough to matter. Doesn’t mean you need to enjoy every aspect of it. But you certainly need to enjoy playing the game to remain competitive. |
| I wish our coach would yell. It would mean he cares. |
Nah bruh. This coach gets it. Hopefully he beats the kids after the game too if they messed up. |

No card issued?
No report to NCSL? No email to club officials? No constructive action? Just a disgruntled parent coming on to anonymously disparage another club on a message board Great just great |
It does seem to get worse. My ES kid's coaches are super protective of the kids having a positive experience but my kid was in shock that the coaches from the same club were yelling at the HS players when he watched a game. Poor kid could not believe coaches would be so mean. |
You are the problem with kids sports. I've seen so many of you. My kids are in college now and we've had coaches like you. They drive their kids like maniacs and then you never hear about their kids in sports again once college rolls around. I've seen so much of this testosterone driven bs that amounts to absolutely nothing. You aren't very smart but yelling gets you noticed and makes you feel big. The rest of us know what you are. |
