Love this.

If I’m wrong, nothing will happen.
If they’re wrong, they’ll have to suffer for eternity.

Crazy how people can’t recognize how damaged their minds have become.

This is called “Pascal’s Wager”, and it is fallacious thinking because it assumes a binary choice is between your god and no god.

What if the Scientologists are the one’s who are right? Or some religion you haven’t discovered?

At least we agree with your last point.

We are in agreement. My sarcasm didn’t come through.

The original pp stated with such arrogance about the version of hell she believes in, like it’s supposed to convey some sort of humanity.
Then basically admits that their religion confirms people to an eternity of “pretty bad” happenings if their religion is right. But if other people’s beliefs are right, nothing happens them.

Which actually conveys love and humanity? Which prefers a rather sadistic punishment?

I loved the irony.

I don’t think a human soul disappearing into nothingness is good. An absolute extinction everyone who ever lived, is preferred?

You say that like we get to choose.

You say that like you are certain we don’t get to choose.

No, I do not. I am certain there is no evidence we get to choose. Hopefully you understand the difference.

I choose to spend eternity in paradise, with my Creator. So I just chose. You are wrong.

So whatever we "choose" gets to happen? Well, then I choose for you to spend eternity riding backwards on a donkey through a beanfield on a rainy day.

Hey this is fun!

Awww, you are getting closer, sort of. You don’t get to choose for other people. You don’t have dominion over your fellow human’s bodies or souls, or their fate. That is a fairly simple concept and it’s disturbing you don’t know that, and you feel you can choose for other people.

So you get to choose for other people that other people don't get to choose for other people? Makes perfect sense.

I don’t want other people to go to hell. If you are so sure there’s no God, Jesus was just a wandering teacher, there’s no Heaven or Hell, etc etc etc, this should not bother you in the slightest. But it really bothers you, to the point of unhealthy obsession. Don’t worry about it, if you truly believe it’s just a made up fairly tale.

“At multiple places in Quran God mentions that if the human beings mend their ways and ask for forgiveness He will do so and enter them to Heaven. Most of the places where Hell is mentioned the beauty and peace of Heaven is also cited to show the contrast.

Muslims are obligated to pray to God five times a day. In each prayer we ask for forgiveness and protection from the fire of Hell.“

Other religions have a hell too, not just Christianity.

Buddhist Cosmology recognizes the existence of multple levels of existence, up to 31 planes. The lower ones, where beings roam aimlessly, lost in their own confusion, that results from ignoance, attachment and suffering, as well as wrong actions, are called Samsaric realms. Demi-gods, humans and animals, are all beings of Samsara. However, they are the highest kind. The lower, are the hungry spirits and Hellish realms. These realms are multiple in their description, existing cold and hot hells.

Even ancient religions practiced in Greece and Egypt had a “hell.” I’d you have issue with that, sorry, I don’t control all those religions and their beliefs.

That's a lot of typing in your last post, and I don't dispute any of it at this time. But it is a gish gallop past the original statement: "So you get to choose for other people that other people don't get to choose for other people? Makes perfect sense." That was not addressed.

Religions have religious beliefs. All of them. No one is galloping past that. It’s true, religions believe things you may not agree with or like. You aren’t forced to believe any of this. It’s a given and well established religions have controversial beliefs.

Lovely thoughts and also good to know that Hinduism, unlike Christianity -- does not involve a push to convert or a belief that non-hindus will suffer eternally. It sounds a lot less stressful than Christianity.

So then you agree your position is illogical? That you get to decide for other people what their heaven is but they don't get to decide yours? Ok great! No more discussion necessary, we agree.

There’s no point in discussing anything with you. You put words in my mouth, tell me what my motives are, and are obsessed with something you don’t even believe in. The last point, you being obsessed with something you don’t even believe in, is a huge red flag.

dp Frankly, you seem obsessed with people who question your beliefs. Perhaps you could just believe what you believe and not try to defend or explain it.

My idea of heaven if there is one is sitting at the gates and watching the faces of the millions of people when they find out they chose the wrong religion. I’d never get tired of that!

In your dream, what is the right religion that gets you into heaven?

Dunno. No one does! It’s like playing the lottery really.

OP. I think that my only post in this thread has been the first one. Clarifying because at least one person has assumed that I was the person who was responding to them.

My pastor described hell not as the traditional fiery pit of torture and physical agony, but as a place of absolute isolation of a human soul from love and peace and everything they love, all goodness and light, because of the willful rejection of God. I guess if my religion is wrong and I die and disappear into nothingness, ok. If people who willfully reject God are wrong, the afterlife for them will be pretty bad, for eternity, as pp states above.

Love this.

If I’m wrong, nothing will happen.
If they’re wrong, they’ll have to suffer for eternity.

Crazy how people can’t recognize how damaged their minds have become.

What an odd comment. Defending or explaining what I believe is exactly what op asked of people in their original post.
