Chrissy Teigen really loves attention

^to kill not lull. Darn autocorrect.

Isn’t it interesting how cancel culture works? Some people lose everything while others get a free pass.

Can you name a single person who has “lost everything” due to cancel culture? I’ll wait.

She is a basic mean girl who is kind of funny but often crosses lines of decency. I mean, she said she saw a baby that looked trashy and like a porn star. Without getting all weird and Qanon, and just taking the comment at face value, it is extremely mean spirited and weird.

This really does sum her (and us) up nicely in my opinion.

I think going into someone’s DMs and telling them to kill themselves, especially as a public person, is way beyond a moderated and anonymous mommy/daddy sort of niche message board.

This. I used to really like Teigen but the disclosure of her DMs to Stodden were so disturbing that I’m totally turned off. She encouraged a young person to lull themselves - what in the actual fu!k?!? Sure, my twenties weren’t my moral high ground and I did (and still do) things I regret. But encouraging a stranger, someone who clearly could have used support and kindness, to lull themselves is just beyond the point of acceptable. It’s disgusting. And the disclosure from Stodden that Teigen never reached out directly to her despite claiming she did, is icing on the cake.

+1. Yeah this pretty much sums it up for me. What kind of person does something like that?? I just can’t imagine.

I'll bite. I don't know anyone who lost everything, but one of my family members lost millions of dollars and suffered serious reputational damage because of something that in a certain part of the country was read as a racist trope. It was truly a regional thing- without getting into details, this was something that just plays very differently in our area. My family member was mortified and pulled it down when someone pointed out this interpretation. They apologized. It didn't matter. They were tarred and feathered and had to disconnect their phone. Took years to put behind them. Was an honest mistake. Before you think they deserve it, trust me, you have also probably been culturally ignorant and did offensive things out of that ignorance, not out of malice.

How did they lose millions?

I can’t imagine saying such a despicable thing to anyone - not even my worst enemy, not even when I was younger and more foolish.

This revelation certainly undermines her carefully curated image as loving wife and mommy and miscarriage survivor.

For the record, I survived a very traumatic second trimester miscarriage myself, so I have great empathy for other women in the club.

But it’s hard to muster empathy for any women who routinely attacked other women on social media, publicly or privately.

Being vague intentionally, but basically when this happens, sponsors or clients can break contracts and you lose the money that you were previously designated to receive.

agree, its disturbing

I don’t care if somebody is trying to get attention. It doesn’t impact my opinion of them in the slightest.

But somebody who is cruel to another person isn’t somebody I can support or laugh with when they say something clever.

Right? Chrissy claimed she reached out but she blocked Coutney.

Stodden responded on her verified Instagram account, writing, "I accept her apology and forgive her. But the truth remains the same, I have never heard from her or her camp in private."
"In fact, she blocked me on Twitter," Stodden wrote in the caption of a photo of a screen grab of being blocked from Teigen's Twitter account. "All of me wants to believe this is a sincere apology, but it feels like a public attempt to save her partnerships with Target and other brands who are realizing her "wokeness" is a broken record."

So essentially they were a little less wealthy.

That’s exactly what Chrissy is doing.

Actors and actresses are personas - their entire job is being fake and insincere. Once you realize that, you can start channeling your outrage towards things that actually matter.

You might need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills if you get "outrage" from the post you're responding to.

Are you this literal about everything? You are so missing the point, dummy.

Sigh.

No need to take everything so literally.

Most celebs lose something. Sharon lost her job, Ellen lost her show, etc. Neither taunted fragile people to kill themselves.
