Smoking weed in public near bus stop

How many more threads of whiny broads whining about public consumption of MJ is this board going to have this year? Jesus Christ, yes it's annoying, but what you're really sick and tired of is actually having to be a parent and do parenting things.

Just shut up already.

Too bad. Having police interface with the public over public MJ consumption isn't worth it. MJ isn't going to be come all of the sudden illegal again because pearl clutching grandmas in DC fill their diapers over public consumpion.

Call the police every time you see this until the guy stops doing it or is arrested.

What a waste of police resources.

Dealing with it. That's your answer.

A couple days ago our kids were playing at the nearby park. A bunch of potheads moved in and basically drove everyone else out with their thick haze of weed. Whatever happened to basic decency and consideration of the people around you?!

OMG. How will your kids ever survive? That's it, time for you to move to Warrenton.

That being said, if he's close to the school and it's a drug free school zone, I'd ask the cops to say something to him.

Why do we want a populace that's all drugged up and high all the time?

We prefer one that is locked up?

DP. This is not the issue and you know it. No one is suggesting that public weed smokers get locked up. I and the other PPs are simply saying that the person shouldn't be doing it at a bus stop near a school or anywhere else in public for that matter.

People seem to think they can smoke weed wherever they want now that it's been decriminalized. That's not how this works.

It's the issue that PP raised.

I agree that many potsmokers are inconsiderate. But clearly, it IS how it works, until people start calling the police to report the nuisance. People do what they can get away with. It's wrong but that's how it is. Banks do it. Giant corporations do it. Politicians do it. And lowly potheads do it.

You don't like it, you know who to call. Posting here does nothing.

Are you new here? Every single post on DCUM "does nothing." That doesn't mean we can discuss the topic.

I'm sure it makes some of you feel smarter, so that can be seen as a plus.

No, it's about basic decency. Most people also do not constantly spit, urinate or defecate on the sidewalk. And the answer is not jail but a juicy $100 ticket every time a pothead lights up in public.

I'm willing to bet the majority of people lighting up in public are either homeless or teenagers. Not sure what a fine or jail would do to curb that issue.

You thought there'd be no aroma in a densely populated city?

No, some pothead blowing smoke right in my kid's face at the bus stop on the way to school was not part of the bargain.

I think your comment perfectly exemplifies the callousness of current pot smokers. As in, who cares if I bother little children on the playground? Who cares if i'm stoned behind the wheel! No decency or respect for other members of society.

Jailing them would solve their homeless problem! Two birds with one stone.

It's disappointing but not surprising to see posters mock basic consideration for others -- including young kids -- and want to abolish any pretense of civilized behavior.

How many more posts from anti-social, dim-witted pot heads is this thread going to have?

And easily controlled.

This. I feel like part of the reason politicians are promoting recreational weed is to make the populace too languid to dissent.

Pretty sure we have learned in the past 15 years that talk radio and cable news are much more powerful means of controlling the populace.
