Harbour Island (not sure that counts)

Bawah Island, Indonesia

Is Deia “posh”? I love it but wouldn’t have described it that way. I guess it’s way better than the uber touristy British vacation package areas there.

Fixed that for you.

Do you get to the islands by private plane?

I am from England, I love that people think it is posh.

If you ever decide to visit again we will have our butler show you the less posh areas of England.

Compared to the majority of other countries in the world, England is “posh”. The British royalty is still intact, and in general Britains look more put together when they go out in public than the typical American. There are castles and gardens. People are polite and queue for everything in an orderly manner. I’ve lived there, yes I know there are dodgy areas and people of different social classes there, but as a whole, I agree that England is a “posh” place to visit.

I don't think the emoji nearly conveys the strength of my reaction to this post. Did you "live there" for a semester in college?? That's sure what it sounds like. "Britains" and "dodgy," get out of here.

This whole thread is pretty cringe-inducing, but seriously, this reply just induces more snickering.

Agree w/the cringiness of this thread. DCUM peeps try SO hard.

PP is right about the UK. Everybody I know there lives in a castle, has a nice garden, religiously watches the daily changing of the guard. Plus, they sip tea! How posh can one be?

+1

Most everyone in the DC area are try hards. Know it alls who know nothing, it is laughable.

Chamonix
Epernay
Middleburg
Cote d'Azur (St. Tropez, Cap Ferrat)
Capri/Ischia
Napa
Nantucket
Chatham
Naples (FL not Italy)

Not sure if these are considered "posh," but they're lovely places to spend time! I'm American so these spots are probably have more of an allure to me than your average European.

It was incredible but very expensive.

Is one night enough. Had previously made a two night reservation but had to cancel due to illness....

Lol that’s so silly. I can point you to private homes with private beaches for a tiny fraction of that cost.

Start pointing...

This is exotic, but still posh. Go to Peru and only stay in hotels owned by Inkaterra. https://www.inkaterra.com/

As a transplant who got out of St Mary’s county as soon as I was able I salute you! Even as a kid I cringed in OC and Gatlinburg.

St Mary’s County is nicer than all of those towns. At least gatlinburg has the smokies though.

Get off the beaten path…portofino or Tuscan coast instead of Amalfi.

So many places in Greece this year (Hydra, Paros, sifinos)….no one who is anyone goes to Mykonos or Santorini anymore.
