As the parent of a student at another Claremont College, this is great. It needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt, but it definitely offers a little insight into the vibe and reputation of each school. |
Oops. I didn't mean to bump this 3-year-old thread. I was trying to find this link to paste into the current CMC thread. Still, it has some gems, like this one from the CMC mock application: "Describe a circumstance in which you were confronted by a test of personal integrity, a difficult moral decision, or an ethical dilemma, and how it failed to impact you as a person on your ruthless pursuit of profit at all costs." |
| Holy moly, two california liberal arts college posts being at the top of DCUM, something wrong must be happening! |
Yeah, too many California posters. |
Luckily, my kid is staying here in DC. California offers nothing he can't get here. |
| Ever watch the rose bowl on New Year’s Day? Hot weather like that in dc or nova?? |
Intelligence is spending $80k for...weather. |
Try $89,414 for Pomona. https://www.pomona.edu/financial-aid/cost-attendance |
| and $91,510 for Pomona. Not worth it! Full disclosure - my own slac out there is $94k and not worth it! |
My kid was set on it, but then got into an Ivy too so thankfully staying on this coast. |
Had to claw mine to choose a lower ivy over it. It didn't work, but it was also their cheapest option, so I can't complain too much. |
meant Claremont! holy moley! |
| Re Pomona. FWIW it (and Occidental) just got sued by the Biden Justice Department, US Department of Ed for violations of jewish student's rights under the 1964 Civil Rights Act. https://tsl.news/brandeis-center-and-adl-sue-pomona-college-over-antisemitism/amp/ |
What is wrong with you? |
i Also sued are UCLA (6 days ago), Haverford, NYU and, of course, Harvard, two months ago. |
