And they are back! ANTIFA and BLM in Dupont Circle

I agree. Antifa sucks. There are some uber-liberal normal people who like to hang out with the group in their area and feel important, but by and large antifa is just trying to cause trouble. Its origins may be laudable. It's recent history is not.

I look at the pictures of “antifa” and they’re just kids playing dress up. The fear over them is over the top.

They have caused quite a bit of destruction. The business owners who have been victimized by them beg to disagree with you.

Vandalism, looting, arson, and other destructive activities have been a hallmark of the unrest that sometimes evolves out of peaceful protests. The left and the right have been at odds over how these acts should be perceived for decades, but that debate reached a fever pitch during protests in the wake of George Floyd's death last summer.

Like wearing a funny hat with horns? Stop judging people by how they dress.

They’re silly performance artists. Show me one person that takes them seriously. I’m sure the Che Guevara t-shirt industry thanks them for their business.

Cliche and unoriginal are words I think of when someone says antifa.

The hate here is strange. Was there actual violence or just harassment of diners? They are trying to get a valid point across about the inequities in our system and now that Biden won all the liberals are back to their usual not caring about the plight of POC. Yeah Trump's gone, everything's fine, please don't interrupt our dinner....

But how does screaming at and intimidating people who most likely agree with them on many issues help?

Please. Not one person voted for Biden because of antifa’s temper tantrums, wisdom, bullhorns, or signs. They’re absurd kids protesting, which is fine. In certain areas the authorities let their antics destroy property, but that’s for those localities to worry about. Don’t consider for a moment that they carry any intellectual weight, though. Their trade is in over-the-top emotion and wild screaming-as you’d expect from children.

Oh, so I guess it's ok, then. No need to hold them accountable. Just give them room to destroy, right?

Property damage is covered by insurance.

The BLM folks were harassing dinners and others. How is one ok but not the other?
