This is why I come to DCUM - thank you! |
Agreed 1000% Thank you!!! |
| SWW in person this fall? |
It’s a small crowded school. So unless a large percent opt all virtual or OSSE relaxes their requirements I would say no. Most likely hybrid. |
| Anyone hear anything yet? |
| We haven't. |
| Nada |
| Here is what I would assume if that helps with some anxiety or worry: if your child has a GPA from 7th grade that is high when unweighted (so I would say 3.6 or higher?), they will get an interview. If your kid has a 3.9 or 4.0 they will 100% get an interview. |
|
Just got the interview email.
GL, everyone! |
| Yes, e-mail arrived. DS didn't make it. The school is not a good fit for DS, but he wanted to try. Wilson it is. |
|
Just received the following message:
>Although your student met the minimum GPA requirement of having a 3.0 at the end of last school year, it did not meet the requirement of having your student be scheduled for an interview. My DC had almost straight A's so I have no understanding what this means. |
|
My daughter got an interview. It went to my spam folder, I wouldn't have checked spam for days if it didn't know emails were going out.
Thanks DCUM! |
Not sure how to calculate Math A- Sci B- Hist A- French A- Eng A The old fashioned way where minuses meant -.3, I think that 3.56 is the average. Does anyone know what the cutoff was for the interviews? |
|
My kid got the same message and had straight As:
What is up with that? Algebra 1 A Spanish A English A Gym A Music A History A Science A Just received the following message: >Although your student met the minimum GPA requirement of having a 3.0 at the end of last school year, it did not meet the requirement of having your student be scheduled for an interview. |
I hope that Walls will be more transparent then previous years about their admission process. Who are you going to ask about this? Suggestions. DC just received the same message and a 3.6 from Deal. I heard that they are trying to figure out ways to get more kids from Wards 7 and 8 and this new admissions policy was supposed to help them achieve their "diversity" goals. |
