Cafe DeLuxe! I had forgotten about them, but they were great for groups. Everyone could find something that they enjoyed.

Loved Ten Pehn and Vidalia. Does anyone remember the name of the Caribbean restaurant under Whitehurst Freeway, all the way down toward Key Bridge? I used to love that place.

Oh man, I was only visiting friends in DC at that time before moving here, but we would always do Chef Geoff, Guapos, Cactus Cantina, Cafe Ole, Cafe Deluxe. Also had my first ever chipotle in Friendship Heights and thought I was SO sophisticated.

Cheesecake Factory was in White Flint! I was still in college in 2000. I remember reading about so many of these places and wanting to try them, but I was broke. I’m sorry I missed out on so many of them!

I was just thinking about Dinos!

Outside of the city, but I always enjoyed the Hamburger Hamlet.

Dinos was absolutely a favorite in our house (although maybe didn't open until closer to 2005?).

Mixtec in Adams Morgan was the first place I had real Salvadoran food.
Famous Luigi's in Dupont.

Domku on Upshur! Best food, worst service. What an emotional rollercoaster, but so worth the abuse.
