His complaint is that he only gets a Christmas card. I get a card too so it’s not like they’re only getting me and the kids something. My parents haven’t given me a Christmas gift since I graduated high school so that’s why it’s not really a big deal to me.

They give you separate xmas cards? That's just weird TBH.

My mom likes to write personal messages in her cards that’s why we get separate ones.

In the past my MIL would send me something small like a single bar of soap in the mail. This year she sent me makeup with the stipulation that I put it on my face and then take and share a selfie every day for two weeks straight. WTF.

My in-laws give my DH about $200 for Christmas and I get a pair of fuzzy holiday socks from the dollar store with a gift receipt. For birthdays, DH gets a Starbucks gift card and I get a card. My parents spend equal on us and are very generous.
