Landon Admissions

And how does the Landon diploma stack up against the other metro schools?
Anonymous
Well, their college admissions are pretty damn good.

O Enlightened One, please tell us. Which boys "deserve" to be picked on?

Some boys who are picked on, might very well deserve it. Its not just athletes who are picking on other students its also non athletes.

It seems like everyone is so quick to attack the athletes. There are some kids at Landon - who do no sports, no music and no community service and just getting by in the classroom. Those kids as well as the trouble makers need to find a new HOME.

I find the idea that some boys deserved to be picked on at the heart of Landon's problem. That described the culture.

It would also help explain some of GH's thinking and behavior.

To those who have attended any Landon open houses or visits, do they address any of their recent issues?
Anonymous
They don't.

If true, I think that's quite telling.

When you go to the interview with your DS, they will ask you if you have any questions regarding the recent publicity.
Anonymous
That's probably the best way to handle things.

Isn't that like putting a giant target on your head saying - ding us - we ask hard questions?

Not quite sure what you are getting at. If they don't ask, people would complain they are ignoring the situation and when they do ask, I think you are saying that is not smart either.

Personally, I would rather have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the admissions people.

I'd suggest rather than asking anyone whether they have questions about the "recent publicity," that they take the bull by the horns and say something like "you have no doubt heard about recent incidents about current and former members of the school - here's what we learned from it, here's what we're doing about it.

This is all a bunch of bull, according to Landon's website they haven't even had their open house yet. Its on November 7th. I'm sure if they have a Q&A session, they will address last years events.

True, but the admissions staff has already started making the rounds at the feeder schools, which are open houses of sorts. In other words, the Landon folks make a presentation to prospective parents. So what the pps have been discussing isn't necessarily bull.
