Having been through this process multiple years in a row with DC, it is amazing to me how the process is always an emotional roller coaster nightmare for parent and child. It seems like things only worsen every year too.
Coaches and administrators could really make things better by being straightforward with how the process is going to go regarding tryouts and player notification timelines. No player should have to go into the process with little understanding of their role and value on a team. It sure would be great to see improvements in this area. |
They didn’t make Bethesda ECNl. |
Since role and value is tacitly connected to the available pool to a roster, there is no way a coach is going to sign up for that. Especially if they decide that another player may be more advantageous (mid season) in that role or for PT. Can you imagine the backlash from a parent/parents about what a coach said? That’s gonna be an issue that no coach wants. |
No player is waiting until late June to commit. No club will wait that long for a player so they will have to pay the fee elsewhere...and then have the hassle of trying to have a player card released. |
What's the joke on BRYC? I see it in many threads but don't know the specifics. Boys or Girls? coaches or players? |

| What is the earliest date an ecnl player can try out at another ECNL club without needing to be released? |
