| Well, poodles are like people. I know the DNA is different, but it's difficult to differentiate, especially when walking on their hind legs. |
There are absolutely people out there who really and truly think like this. Go look at the comment section on any article that talks about a child being terribly injured by a dog. Loads of people will comment that it was somehow the kids fault, they must have deserved it etc. there was a child in Utah who literally had their arm bitten off by a neighbors dog and the family was threatened: https://www.google.com/amp/s/kslnewsradio.com/1903231/austin-brown-dog-attack/amp/ |
Nope, but it looks like I struck one with you! |
Sure, that’s why you started this thread. Because you’re so empathetic. GTFO. |
No one gives a shit about your kid but you. The world would tick along quite well without your having reproduced. Take vacation time to care for the children you chose to bring into the world. |
This. If I had to save my dog or one of the rancid PP’s on this thread from a burning building, I’d save my dog every day of the week. |
Right, but their humans call themselves “owners,” not “parents.” The people who are “dog moms” are the people who make their dog treats from scratch and throw birthday parties for their dogs. |
I didn’t start the thread. There are more than a few people out there who think the dog mom thing is pathetic and ridiculous. Sorry! I know you can’t truly understand, not being a mother, but it really is a joy to have a child and no pet can ever compare. |
If no one brings children into the world who is going to fun social security and be employed taking care of you at the nursing home when you are old? You might consider your dog your child but I assure you the dog can’t help take care of you when you’re old. Sorry your employer understands the value of human life versus your sad hobby. |
NP here. I prioritize my child over my pets, but...it was still a huge blow when my 22 year old cat died. I'd gotten her when I was in high school and she loved my ds, almost like she thought ds was "her" baby. When she died I was inconsolable for days. There's something about loving something in one phase of your life that continues into the next phase, I think. |
I have no dog in this fight (no pun), but the bolded made me laugh. You probably don’t realize it, but you sound like you’re trying to convince yourself of this. I can’t understand why, if you are so joyous, you’d be bothered by someone else’s use of dog mom. If you are really secure in your life decisions, this wouldn’t register. Dog owners aren’t taking away from your status as a mother—and we aren’t trying to. You sound a bit insecure, TBH. Regardless of your harsh words above, I wish you the best and a never-ending supply of joy raising your precious child. [Relatively new poster who has a dog, but no children. I don’t use the term “dog mom,” but I don’t judge others who do.] |
Hamsters are lame. |
Totes. 🤣🤣 |
Yes, that is PP's point. PP, I like your style. |
Trust me, I am very secure in my choices. I just think that in general, acting like dogs are on the same level as children is harmful to society. And a little bit insulting to mothers of human children. That’s how we’ve ended up with dogs in grocery stores and tiny children being blamed if they are bitten by a dog. |
