Do people still use AAA?

We have it and have used it a few times for dead batteries and a tow. We also use it for travel discounts.

My Audi is 2 years old. Got a flat in July and called Audi roadside assistance. Took TWO hrs and the guy was rude. Never had that experience with AAA.

This week I bought my son Triple A for 2 years. He brought his car to college and it gave me piece of mind even though the car is only a year old. $135. Totally worth it!

I had a long road trip scheduled. Asked AAA to send me the relevant maps and one of their Trip Tik books. It all sat on the seat beside me while I used a GPS for the trip. Paper never fails, never loses signal, never gets confused when it’s cloudy. The peace of mind was well worth the membership.

I use them. Gave a copy of card to DD when she went on road trip with another family. Great for battery service and flat tires

Our new car came with free roadside assistance for 2 or 3 years. Anyway, it was terrible. They took forever to arrive and then tried to upsell me to get towed to dealer even though I just needed a jumpstart because a teen left the door open overnight.

We have AAA and next time, I'll call them instead.

Same. Got it when we had au pairs and an extra car for their use. Now still using it.

New poster. Have used AAA for about 30 years, I figure. They have:

Towed me from the side of I-95 when I was miles from anywhere
Jump-started batteries
Replaced a dead battery with a new one on the spot (twice over the years!)
Unlocked my car when I had locked the keys inside it
Towed me from other places around the area, always to wherever I wanted them to take the car

You get a certain number of free service calls, not unlimited ones, and one year with an aging car, I used up that year's free tows etc.! But they came, every time. I think once I had to wait 90 minutes when I was somewhere remote. Otherwise? 30 to 45 minutes tops.

And OP, this is important to me and is the reason I'll give my DD the gift of an AAA membership: They are trained, when you call, to ask you: "Are you in a safe place?" They want to know if the caller is stranded in a location where the caller feels unsafe. Sometimes in the flustered moments of realizing your car isn't working, it's easy not to focus on non-emergency but red flag things like "Wait, this area seems sketchy/it's getting dark quickly/I don't know exactly where I am in this unfamiliar area." The question makes you stop and pause a second to consider if the surroundings seem safe. I have always said I was in a safe location but I figure that if the caller told them, no, I'm not feeling safe, they would stay on the line with you while they let police know where you were and/or expedited a AAA service provider. I really like that they ask you that very early in the conversation.

If you book marriott/sheraton direct aaa has discounts. Verizon roadside is good. Credit cards sometimes have it included.

I live in the Southwest and have two Airbnbs.

Twice guests have tried to use their own roadside assistance that isn't AAA (not sure what it was -- maybe their car insurance). Both were told there were no authorized tow services within 200 miles. One was stuck in the snow, the other had a dead battery.

Our Gold Member AAA service paid to tow them to a repair shop for free. No cost to them, no cost to us.

Love AAA.

I have it and I use it a lot. For some reason I get a lot of flat tires. As I am a woman and frequently traveling alone they are always quick to get to me.

Ran out of gas on 66, same thing. The responding driver uses GPS so you can even track their arrival.

They’ve come for dead batteries and replaced with a new one on the spot.

A friend was visiting and locked his keys in his car and because they were visiting me at my house the service was covered fully. No charge.

I find the AAA contractors to be really professional and kind. I have coverage through insurance and could always call in a pinch but AAA is just such a good service and so inexpensive.

We do. They have been really convenient and good service when we've needed it. I've used them like once a year since 2015.

I've also used the travel service for a Disney/Universal trip. She really helped us nail down the places we wanted, etc.

We used it a few days ago

I do, because Subaru roadside sucks. AAA is fast. And if I break down, I want fast.

My husband's parents gifted it to us early in our marriage, and we've renewed it every year since 1999. Over the years, we've used it about 25 times for dead batteries/non-starts, 5 times for flat tires, and once for a tow after a minor crash. They've always been prompt, friendly and honest. They will replace your battery if needed, and the price is comparable to non-emergency retailers, plus there's a warranty.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but you can save on amusement park, attractions and museum tickets with AAA. Usually it's only a dollar or two, but it can add up on family road trips.
All in all, it's been a good value for the money.

For what you pay into it, AAA is a huge bargain.

My car insurance does not offer roadside assistance so for about fifty bucks a year - I get huge peace of mind.
AAA has been an absolute Godsend in many situations for me! 🤝

Discounts at all kinds of theme parks, hotels, etc.
They help plan trips. They will even help you unlock your front door of your house, if you lock your keys by mistake. As pp said, they come right out when you have a dead battery or flat tire--anywhere, anytime! Or, if someone crashes into you, they will tow you. ❤️ love AAA!
They do notary services, too. We've used them for titling and registering when selling and buying cars direct between owners. I could go on and on. I've used them in multiple states. Very fast, friendly, and helpful.
