Do people still use AAA?

Anonymous
We used it many years ago for an old car, stopped when we got new cars and now signed up again as our cars have again become old. It was very helpful when my car suddenly died in a Metro garage due to alternator issues.

AAA is also good if you have bicycle malfunction while riding. I've used it before. The flatbed is kind of overkill but it works.

Since I do not have roadside assistance w/my automobile insurance, and my car is eleven years old I definitely have it!

It has literally been a godsend for me‼️

There is also a magazine subscription as well as member discounts if you are a member too.

For AAA users, have you been able to get any meaningful discounts anywhere? Mainly just hotels right?

I don’t now, but am thinking of joining. When I was much younger I had to driving cross country as fast as possible and they gave me guidebooks for every state, and spent time with me mapping out two different routes on maps. I felt so comforted by that. I still have those darn guidebooks. It made the super fast onerous drive less daunting and actually fun at times.

Wait, don't all car insurances include roadside assistance??

I know ours does. USAA

Classic.

We have it through Geico. I think I've only needed it for a jump once, and I think they were there within an hour.

We haven't needed a tow or anything. But this stuff is easier to navigate now that everyone has cell phones.

Yes, but only about once a year.

I'm curious, can you please share?

Yes that it's worth every penny. We just used it for a fifty mile tow. We have AAA plus so it was free.

Debating. If I rent a cat, am I covered for roadside?

Rent a car, not a cat!

Yes. My daughter uses it monthly (she locks her keys in the car) and she drives an older car. I've used it once for a dead battery and AAA arrived in a half hour, they were professional and fast and followed me to Auto Advantage to "help" me install a battery. Yes, they did all the work. Yes, I'm blond.

AAA did me wrong. Left me waiting for hours for simple job that would've taken them 3 seconds to complete. Left me hanging in a potentially dangerous setting. We dropped them after that.
