But then don't they update the waiting list more regularly? They could update after each rejection and start inviting others. Very strange. |
Our child got into Basis about a month ago, and we were given about 10 days to decide. We took the spot, and our child is excited. They seem well organized with DL, and we have already attended several parent sessions. |
I am more worried about when they return to the building. |
I'm concerned about that as well, but no one will be forced to return to school (DL will remain an option for anyone who wants it). Also, they plan to keep kids in one classroom and have the teachers move in order to decrease risks. That said, the way things are going in this country, DC schools may end up doing DL for the entire year. |
10 days? We got 3. Pass. |
| Do we have any chances whatsoever, if our original number was in the 200s? I originally thought not, but I hear they are really going deep into the waitlist... How much more movement is to be expected? |
I honestly don't think so. But hell, it's a weird year. |
We got 10 days to decide, but we already knew we would take the spot. Why did you put Basis on your list if you didn't actually want your kid to go there? |
Hi, 8/10 11:51 -- did you eventually get a call? |
Yes- Offered a spot. |
Did you take it? Are you taking it? |
Different poster but as someone that turned down a spot, I wanted to be able to make that decision as late as possible so I had as much information as possible. It turned out nothing changed for us but why make a decision in March that you can make in May or June, etc. |
Yes you will. |
Unlikely |

Nobody knows this year. WL movement, and how the school year looks at BASIS, obviously depends on Covid situation to some extent. Crowded building, narrow hallways, Covid...
