Hanna/Hannah Hastle

It doesnt seem so different to me than all the Anna’s and Andreas who also have to specifiy which A sound to use. So long as she (and you) won’t be super offended when people get it wrong.

I'm going out on a limb here and predicting that most people saying the kid's name will be American.

Also still confused about Hastle. Is it the last name? If so, people will assume that since the first syllable of each name looks the same, it sounds the same. If it's a misspelling of the word "hassle," OP needs to stick with names that have conventional spellings (and pronunciations).

This. You are suggesting a pronunciation most people have never heard before, myself included. She will have to correct everyone her whole life.

I'm a Hannah (pronounced Han-nah) and love my name. Plus it's a palindrome! Can't go wrong.

Well OP if you love it go for it but just be aware 99% of people will likely pronounce it the more common way “Hannah” and you and your little Hanna will have to correct them. It’s not the worst thing in the world.

Also the name we picked for our son was excoriated here on DCUM when I asked. We named him the name anyway!
