How long until MCPS announces distance learning only?

My virologist husband’s opinion:
The virus will not disappear naturally and we must get as many people vaccinated as possible.
2021 will be all about distribution and vaccination.

Please remember it is highly likely there will be intermittent classroom or school closings because of positive cases, so you will need a back-up childcare plan.

And for the love of all things, just because something is legal does not make it wise. Gatherings are just NOT safe right now. This is because people forget to distance, and if they eat/drink, they take off their masks. If you have steely willpower and distance yourself and wear masks while seeing loved ones outside, great. You’ve noticed a lot of people can’t do that.

Isn’t it interesting that the Secretary of Education has no experience in the field of education. She does not hold a degree in education, has no teaching experience, never attended a state or public university, and sent her own children to private school. Why is she someone we should listen to when it comes to anything related to education?

She is the first secretary of education with zero experience with public schools. She has never worked in a public school. She has never been a teacher, a school administrator, nor served on any public board of education. She didn’t even attend public schools or send her children to public schools. She is out of her league when it comes to knowing and doing what works for public school students. (The last sentence is an opinion. The other sentences are facts.

The Secretary of Education is responsible for the overall direction, supervision, and coordination of all activities of the Department and is the principal adviser to the President on Federal policies, programs and activities related to education in the United States. The hosting mom is very irritated with me now because she thinks I ruined it for other families by pointing out the risks. I never knew I was that charismatic by text.
