He’s not only talking about a vaccine. He is talking about spread and immunity etc. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/02/dr-scott-gottlieb-says-he-thinks-the-worst-of-the-us-coronavirus-epidemic-will-be-over-by-january.html |
You mean, Trump's FDA Commissioner between 2017 and 2019, who resigned to spend more time with his family? |
Not going to happen. I’m not an anti-vaxxer and I wear my mask religiously. But I absolutely will not make my kids get a Covid vaccine. No way, no how. IF it even comes out, it will have been rushed through. I think there are many people who will (rightfully) decline a Covid vaccine. |
They also said as long as it's safe. I am not for or against school opening up or virtual only. I just wish some decision is made so I can plan accordingly. |
Actually they didn't say "as long as it's safe" anywhere, because who determines what is safe? |
Well, there you go, "until there's a vaccine" people. Until there's a vaccine = never. Mind you, PP, although the vaccine effort will have been rushed through, that doesn't necessarily mean that the individual vaccine development, trials, approval, and manufacturing will have been rushed through. Usually they wait until they have approval to start manufacturing, because of the risk of non-approval, but as I understand it, they're already ramping up manufacturing now. That's where the time savings is coming from. |
Then what the F was the this model even mentioned? I have lost all respect for teachers. I truly have. |
It's pretty clear that the teachers don't want to go back. But it's not the teachers making the decision. |
First of all, no they are not. A great many people are still working from home and severely limiting their interactions and the time spent outside the home. Which is what everybody should be doing unless you are an essential worker. Second, they are not sitting in poorly ventilated rooms with a bunch of other people with questionable ability to keep their masks on. Third the PPs were specifically invoking camps and comparing them with school. The number of kids currently in in-person camps is minuscule compared to the number of public school students. |
yup |
| My kid so missing being in school. |
I would be thrilled if they just accepted reality and did this rather than squandering their resources on this dangerous hybrid nonsense |
I know! They should listen to Ms. Devoss. She's the Secretary of Education after all. The economy > student welfare. |
So does mine. Send the little ones back at least! |
lol this is no picnic for parents or teachers |
