This is really bad, right? (husband behavior)

On the surface the behavior sounds ridiculous. And of course it’s rude—but you already know that, OP. And so does your DH.
But we also don’t know your household dynamic. Is your husband’s strong aversion to peas something that your son and all of you are aware of? If yes, is it possible that your DS specifically prepared a meal with peas in it as a passive-aggressive “f&$@ you” to DH and DH decided to respond in a similarly passive aggressive way?

Even if that were true, DH would still be the jerk because what kind of mature parent engages in a passive aggressive war with their kid? My god.

DH is a man child. VEry rude!

Sensory reactions are difficult to explain to someone who doesn't have them. A sensory reaction is much stronger than a "dislike", though, and is something that some people experience in reaction to certain textures and smells.

Funny, only picky Americans seem to have these food sensory issues! I am sure any starving child from any other country would have been grateful for that dish. This wasn’t roadkill but a well thought out meal. People who justify being picky get only eye rolls from me.
