He's being influenced by far-right conspiracy theorists, just like a lot of other things, and using it to rally his base ... similar to the "caravans" coming to the border that conveniently disappeared as a matter of concern just after the election.
My further feeling is that there's a group of people who just want to pump chloroquinone as "good news" to impact the stock market. It's pump and dump, writ large. The notion that Novartis is involved also seems plausible |

Why is he doing this? Because he latched on to the idea and it resonates with his base and Fox and now he will stick with it until the dying end.
It really doesn't matter if the smart people know he's full of shit. All that matters is his Base believes it and all of his cronies believe it. He's very good at going with one thing and sticking with it. This is no different than Lock Her Up. Same effect. |
