The virus is still and will still be out there even if the number of cases goes to zero. The only way to "beat" or "control" this virus is for someone to create a treatment AND a vaccine. I don't see how soccer or even school can resume without a treatment or vaccine in place. Otherwise, we'd just start this all over again. I understand that they are saying that it will be at least 12 months for a vaccine. I know they need to open up business well before a vaccine is found, but I don't see how they can will open up sports and schools until a vaccine is in place. I'm no expert on any of this. I just don't see how sports will open up for maybe another YEAR! Thoughts?
I agree with you. I think the topic of this discussion should be more about whether or not there will be a Fall 2020 season or even a Spring 2021 season.
And as the previous posted implied...we don't know much right now, so it's best not to even speculate about when the kids will be able to get back on the field and compete unfortunately. It's going to be really hard for these kids to say motivated on their own for a year.
The virus is going to stay, we’ll have to become immune to it. The only way is to get infected and recover from it, or get a vaccine. Unfortunately this is like a mortal roulette game, we don’t know who is strong enough to recover after being infected.
