GDS v. Sidwell

Is this really what life is like for those at top private schools in DC? Excoriating Maret for the athletic field deal, criticizing Sidwell for kicking the old and infirm onto the curb, being catty about STA for CC Club membership, and making fun of GDS for being a Sidwell wannabe?

Other than your opinion, do you have any evidence to back up that statement?

Of course not, because there is none. I don't know anyone who would pick GDS over Sidwell.

Consider those DCUM memes, like the notion of a Big 3 itself. Not the real world.

Just for the record, the Clintons were considering both schools for Chelsea. The deciding factor was that Sidwell's campus was conducive to a more secure drop-off and pick-up (i.e. the daily transition). This was communicated to the Obamas as well.

Actually some of the Clintons best friends, particularly Marion Wright Edelman, had their kids at Sidwell. It was never much of a decision.

Yes. Add trashing Bullis and that's pretty much 99%.

This is why some of us tune out the noise and realize that the best school in the area (Whittle) is right under our nose with doors wide open for curious and motivated learners.

Chelsea's in her 40s. Probably time to let that go.

There is no support for the Chelsea anecdote, but I've heard several GDS parents cite the lower school site drop-off and security as the reason why the Obamas did not go to GDS.

The GDS new campus is rising along Wisconsin Avenue and looks great. How is Sidwell's "plan" going?

The little Whittle Ponzi school.

While DCUM obsesses about the Big 3, some of us know that the real pecking order in DC begins with the Wuhan 1.
