What did Donald J. Trump Do to Deserve a Second Term?

He got Russia to help him throw elections. This is all he needs to be re-elected.

The fact that you start off giving a president — of any party — credit for the economy just shows that you’re an idiot.

One of the great enduring stupidities of the American presidential cult is the belief, rooted in invincible ignorance, that the state of the U.S. economy at any given moment is a reflection of the intelligence and wisdom of the chief executive of the federal government and a result of the excellence or insufficiency of his administration. “Sure, Bill Clinton may have been an intern-diddling hillbilly and maybe even a violent rapist, but, man, my IRA kicked ass in the 1990s!”

DP. I have posted this so many times on different threads. As if Trump can take credit for all those things and they aren't the result of so many factors over so many years.

And the talk about the deregulation....as if that is good. Oh yay! Industry can pollute our water more easily. How awesome.

And so many things on that list that would have happened with or without Trump due to things and policies and people already in place before his tenure.

The idiocy of the average American voter would be laughable if it weren't so damaging.

Democrats view Republicans as idiots ........ and Republicans feel the same way about Democrats.

Perhaps. But I would submit that most Democrats are at least well-meaning people who care about their fellow persons, who want to improve education and health care and provide access to these things to as many Americans as possible, end poverty, promote a clean and healthy environment, promote equality and tolerance.

Republicans idiots want to protect their own pocketbooks and worry only about themselves. They talk about family values and Christianity, but they are total hypocrites who don't practice anything they preach.

Oh Lord.. I know many crazy democrat liberals who spout this off.. at the end of the day they are hypocrites. Some of the cheapest & nastiest people. Please stop with the Democrats are all well meaning people, etc.

Oh, well, if you know a few people then it must be so. Give me a break.

So YOU can generalize and make broad sweeping statements, but .....

So who's going to beat him? Seriously, this looks less likely every day.

Like - how do some of you get dressed in the morning with this low level of intellect?

“ revenge gossiping salacious leds” What are you trying to say? No one here is gossiping. Are you sure you speak English regularly? Bot? Troll?

Why are you replying if you can't refute the substance of the post? You couldn't even get that right: in your attempt to mock me personally, you slipped in your elitism and mock a majority of Americans and people who would love to be naturalized citizens. Well done. Keep it up.

Well, assuming the Senate ratifies, he will have gotten a Democrat based NAFTA II (aka USMCA) through. Trump wanted the name changed but didn't care about the details.

Nancy rolled Trump on this.

What did Donald J. Trump Do to Deserve a Second Term?

To quote a well known Democratic strategist, Jim Carville:

"It's the economy, stupid!"

And to those who say that a president has limited influence on the economy, whether that is true or not, the reality is that voters credit or blame the incumbent president for what happens to the economy.

5. Did he solve DACA problem?
6. Did he reduce the nation's debt?
7. Did he negotiate a better trade deal with China?
8. Did he negotiate a better nuclear deal with Iran?
9. Did he denuclearize Korean Peninsula?
10. Did he enhance America's image in the world? (NATO summit fiasco not withstanding)?
11. Did he make America great again? How?

Why should anyone in the right mind vote for Donald J. Trump for a second term - whether one is a Republican, Democrat, or an Independent?

But, but, but, my portfolio!

Why not?

While these questions are meant to be biased against Trump, I actually think they can help explain why he might get re-elected. Here is how I would answer these questions if I was a voter with a family who didn't spend a lot of time worrying about impeachment:

1. Did he build the wall and make Mexico pay for it? Not yet - would need a second term
2. Did he repeal Obama Care? Gutted the most egregious part of it
3. Did he implement a healthcare for all at a lower price? No - costs have continued to skyrocket since Obamacare
4. Did he pull the U.S. out of foreign wars and bring troops home? Working on it - he's kept us safe
5. Did he solve DACA problem? What problem again?
6. Did he reduce the nation's debt? Not an issue - has this even been reduced between the start and end of an administration? Bigger issue is increasing deficits. Elizabeth Warren would be worse
7. Did he negotiate a better trade deal with China? To be determined - inflation is in check and my 401(k) looks good
8. Did he negotiate a better nuclear deal with Iran? To be determined - he's kept us safe
9. Did he denuclearize Korean Peninsula? To be determined - he's kept us safe
10. Did he enhance America's image in the world? (NATO summit fiasco not withstanding)? To be determined
11. Did he make America great again? How? My family is better off than in 2016

Packing the courts with right leaning judges and not getting us into new wars for Israel and oil is enough for me.
