Yep, agreed. |
Yup. https://www.behindthename.com/name/maren Other is a boy’s name: https://www.behindthename.com/name/marin |
One of my fav. Tennis players! |
Here on the west coast it would be pronounced “maa-rin” like Marin county. Not sure that’s what you want.
And in an area like DC with lots of international people, we would naturally call it “mar-ren” if you spell it Maren. Best chance of everyone saying “Mair-ren” if that’s what you want then you should probably spell it Mairen. |
"Marn! Git up over here down in the truck wes goin down the bayou now, Mrn!" |
Love Maren. |
Indeed. It is Celtic/Gaelic name meaning 'star of the sea.' I know a young woman with this name. Lovely girl, lovely personality--I have good associations to it |
Yup. I know an 8 year old Mairin with very Irish roots. She's a lovely girl, and I think it's a great name. |
I taught a Maren, pronounced MAHR-in (Scandinavian last name) and a Merrin, pronounced MARE-in. Both pretty names. |
The Irish form of this name is Muireann |
Marina is very pretty, too, if you were open to similar names.
|
No. Not unless you are Latinx. Otherwise, it sounds like a place to dock your boat. |
You pick a name. Make a deal with your husband, next time he will carry
to term and delivers, he picks. ![]() for all those sleepless nights. |
Let me Marinate on this |
I have a 14 year old Maren and I will say we’ve only had a positive experience with her name. She loves that people always comment how pretty it is and also that she never had to be “Maren L.” In school. She’s finishing up eighth grade and recently one teacher misspelled her name “Marren”
But that’s the only time that’s happened. It’s uncommon but pretty, and it suits my Maren perfectly. Congratulations on your baby girl! |
