If that’s the case, I’d spell it Maren. It rhymes with “Karen” and someone reading it would immediately see the “mare” and start pronouncing it that way. If I see just the “mar” without an e, I’m more likely to pronounce it “MAR-en” |

I would spell it Maren. I know adult women with that name and I like it.
Marin is too Marin County, like “my parents conceived me on a trip to Napa” |

I don’t like it. I have a friend who named her daughter Maren after the country singer Maren Morris because she LOVES her. Just not a fan.
