Who are the top 05 Girl's teams

Anonymous
BRYC 05s have absolutely struggled to win in ECNL but I think they've improved over the past year and will continue to do so. They've added some new players this year who I think may help fill some gaps. Yes, they're at the bottom of the league and age group - I guess someone has to be (lol)- but they're a nice group of kids who work hard and despite losing most games, maintain a good attitude and train hard. Dan last year and now Tyler seem to be invested in them and push them. They beat Loudoun and Wilmington last year, fared well at non-ECNL tournaments (yes, playing less challenging teams than in ECNL), and lost a few ECNL games by just a goal. At the end of the day, I think they're getting good training and obviously facing strong competition which will help them long term. Would like to see them find some success this year. So go ahead and place them below speed bump status in your book, but remember these are good kids - 13 and 14 years old - working hard to compete at a pretty high level.

And got boat-raced by a bad team this last weekend.

Ok. Never mind. Just trying to introduce some much-needed civility into this site. Waste of time. I'll leave it to you nut jobs to chest-thump over 14 year old girls' soccer teams. You're right - whatever club/team your kid plays for is the best and that makes you a superior being. Feel better? Go get 'em!

I've heard through circles that BRYC played VDA this past weekend at the 05 age group. VDA won from what I heard. I don't know the score before anyone asks. Although this is the regular season so maybe there won't be so many people complaining about it.

They’re not in the top 5 in the age group.

Let’s wait and see. The season lies ahead ... McLean plays VDA and BRYC this weekend.

Mclean struggled vs the younger girls in the last tourney. We'll see how they do over the long run.

BRYC is not a top team so no need to discuss. FCV, Pipeline, New Bethesda, McLean, BA, Baltimore Celtic. No, I don't give credit to team just because they play DA or ECNL. The only reason Bethesda deserves notice is because it is combining the best from a nationally ranked team with a solid defense.

Really? McLean beat Bethesda ECNL 06 3-0 and 3-1. The same Bethesda team beat Baltimore Celtic 05 team (No. 3 in MD) in the OBGC tournament. McLean also beat Maryland Rush 05s 14-1 and Pen Express Spirit 05s 7-0. I guess having four wins in four games with 27 goals scored and only 2 allowed means "struggled" for you.
