Should mothers inform older teen sons if they’re “friend zoned”?

I agree that romantic comedies are horrible places to get information about romance, but I'm not sure how well teens take guidance from adults on how to conduct their romantic affairs.

All romantic advice to boys from female relatives is not merely bad, but actively counterproductive, without exception.

If you're a woman you will not understand or accept this, but the fact is, the best thing you can do is BACK OFF and let his dad handle it.

Good grief, it’s no wonder we have the culture we do if people are advising a parent not to parent. OP, you have a responsibility, and that includes providing the harsh truth, no matter how unwelcome. He needs to hear that no means no, and the personal, moral, and legal consequences of ignoring that and continuing to pursue someone. Talk to him, lecture him, embarrass him, do whatever it takes. It is a lesson he needs to learn for him and all of us.

Is that the precise problem OP is trying to solve? Best I can figure, OP has declined to detail what the situation actually is. We can’t actually provide an informed opinion without information.

If his dad can't handle it, let Rollo do it:
