This is almost discriminatory and hurts many socioeconomic levels. Parents might not send their kids to this school based on the cost of before/aftercare care. Are enrichment activities included? Is there a recreation center nearby or a church for before/after care programs?

How many parents turn down schools because of extended care?

most of MCPS is also pretty expensive KOA is $500/month for pm, $585 for both.

I turned down Bridges because of the cost of aftercare. With a little one still in daycare I just couldn't afford it. Plus, I am not sure that the school is so much better than our DCPS that the expense is justified.

Capital City aftercare is $325/month. There are numerous part-time options. They provide “all day” care on their three teacher planning days for $50/kid.

pls change janney in the spread sheet. it says $278 but that must be a 18-19 rate. i just payed $333 aftercare only for january.
