I would want to remain anonymous so everything I would do would be a slow transition so as to not raise any eyebrows. |
I would do the same thing. I always tell my husband to purchase lottery tickets in a jurisdiction where the winner does not have to disclose their identify. If I ever were to win and it was known, I know we would likely lose a lot of friends or have "friends" appearing out of no where. Family members would be bitter, want a share of the winnings or "loans". I actually would keep my job because it is easy money and I could use it as "fun money" and invest most if not all of the winnings. I would maintain the same standard of living, which is good but pay off any lingering bills and make some needed improvements and repairs on our house. I would purchase a new car and travel, which would be my splurge. |
No. And I love my job. But if I didn’t have to work, I’d be happy to find something else to do instead. |
Yes, I would, but I love my job. I'd retire earlier, though, and it would be nice to let my DH off the hook to pursue other interests he has. |
Yes, it’s a good job and until we are empty nesters retiring doesn’t make sense. That and I wouldn’t want my kids to think that life is a free ride. |
What kind of job do you do that is easy money??? |
People like you definitely don’t deserve it It should go to the needy |
It'd have to be a pretty good amount for me to feel comfortable leaving my job entirely. I'm a teacher and teaching sucks ass right now so this may not be a good time to ask me. LOL!
Honestly, we'd probably both just work until we hit the minimum retirement age for the county and then be done. That would allow us to keep our health insurance costs down (particularly while our children are still covered since insurance costs are crazy in retirement). At the most I'd probably just switch to a less demanding role than what I'm currently doing - still pull in a paycheck but for 1/10 the amount of work and stress. |
Yes, I would remain in my job. The prize would likely help me to help more people. |
