Did they overpower a government? |
Prior SCOTUS opinions held that weapons that were proper for mliita use were protected. This was used to recognize the NFA as being constitutional. https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/307/174/ The Court cannot take judicial notice that a shotgun having a barrel less than 18 inches long has today any reasonable relation to the preservation or efficiency of a well regulated militia, and therefore cannot say that the Second Amendment guarantees to the citizen the right to keep and bear such a weapon. As argued by many, "assault weapons" are weapons of war, and therefore would be permissible as they would be effective for militia use. |
Yes. They kicked out the French. |

Now, among us, ain't Haiti a lovely small sh!thole? That doesn't apply to us. |

Ok. History lesson. The England and the Monarch was the government. Moron. You literally missed the point of what the revolution was about. Holy Jesus you are dumb. |
Not because they had the right to bear arms though . India/Pakistan did it without guns. MLK did it without guns Hungary and Czechoslovakia tried it with guns and failed. When they tried it without guns it succeeded. |
Classic. ![]() |
Yes. Overpowered the French colonial government and killed most of the rich plantation owners. In India, they did it without weapons. Once the vast majority of people become so poor and disenfranchised, they resort to revolution by one means or another. I'm really surprised conservatives are supporting gun ownership for this reason, since they will be the "rich" party being rebelled against, weird flex, but ok. Unless many of these conservatives are getting their info from employees in Russia, then it makes sense. |
Don't be so cruel. Previous PP probably believes History started with MLK jr (don't even bother asking about the original ML) |
MLK did what? |
Adultery and Speeches. All without guns. Not sure why he's relevant to this, though. Maybe PP was thinking of Gandhi. |
I think you’re missing my point. Anyhow, keep arguing about guns. Remember 9/11? Any guns used? No. Any rhetoric used? Yes. And yes, I am being extreme to make a point. It is the hearts and minds that cause these tragedies, not an inanimate object. |
You can’t be this dumb?? Just as many Democrat voters own guns and are supportive of the 2nd Amendment as Republicans. Who do you think has more wealth, the average American gun owner (Dem or Rep), or antigun liberal elites?? You really need to leave your coddled Chevy Chase cocoon every now and then. |
