Anyone else worry about their kids future because of global warming?

I really don’t understand why it’s a trend now to have three+ kids.

This article, and another like it( can’t remember where I saw it) are the reason we stopped at two kids. I question myself about our decision daily, since we still have time, and I love kids so much. I have friends with three or more kids, so I usually say something about us not having the money, so they won’t feel judged. Just trying to white knuckle it until biology makes more kids impossible.

I do worry every day about the political and economic landscape my kids and grandkids will live in because of climate change. We should join together across the aisle (most Americans are not as polarized as it seems) to address this.

I also look in my shopping cart to reduce plastic waste. If you're going to wash your fruits and vegetables, then you don't need a plastic produce bag. There are mesh ones you can use to keep limes together if you want.

Bezos is killing the earth with the plastic waste his businesses generate. Whole Foods alone is ridiculous with all their single serve food items in little plastic boxes.

I am not sure Americans can adjust their desires for large SUVs and 68 degree cooled large houses, even for their own kids.

Well, my parents are in the Cape and one of this week’s tornadoes ended less than .25 miles from their house. There’s really no escaping the impact.

The coral will be dead but my Yukon was bigger than the other mommies in the carpool line. Kids can watch video of coral reefs they will be fine.

OP here. A lot of my worry is for my family back home in the Middle East. The entire region may become uninhabitable in our lifetime.

It’s always been uninhabitable, it’s only modern tech that made it support population now. They will find a way to live there.

Exactly. Las Vegas, for example, is really "unhabitable" without borrowing water from California.

I was going to mention that, the pp must not know much about the ME or the fact that it is where civilization based on agriculture started. PP, prior to the Syrian civil war extended drought destroyed 75% of farms and 85% of livestock. Syria's population had been largely a rural farming population until then. In the 90s I had Kurdish neighbors who with the first gulf war left prosperous farms and orchards. And irrigation has been used for millennia all over the world.
