Anyone else worry about their kids future because of global warming?

The two concerns are inextricably linked. Climate change isn't just an environmental problem. It is a social and economic one as well.

No, I just don't care. One person isn't going to change anything.

I can’t believe you are considering a third and also think about the negative impacts of climate change. You are either a hypocrite or an idiot. You are the problem, op.

Yes, I worry. What we are seeing on the southern border is nothing compared to what’s coming. Climate refugees will be the impact we will not be able to handle.

It’s strange, but I felt a lot more fear when my son was small. He is a young teen now, and I look at him and his friends and I feel more excitement about what they will do. Yes, we are giving them a screwed up world - but they are some amazing people, these Gen Zers. I see my son and see a young man who is ready to do hard things. I still fear immediate threats - car accidents, drugs, etc. - but the existential fear of his future has dissipated.

We have teens in college and near college age and they're seriously concerned and also are definitely leaning against having kids partly due to environmental concerns and lack of movement in US and also due to the horrible work-life balance, lack of legislation for families with regard to childcare policies, horrific healthcare options that stymie small business creation here in US, failing infrastructure especially compared to the rest of the developed world etc, cost of raising a kid etc. They've seen our struggles in these areas as well and feel hopeless with the direction the county has been headed the past few years.

Yes, I agree with you OP and think about this all the time.

Of course not because everyone has that attitude. If everyone cared and pressured big businesses to make changes, then THAT WOULD make a difference.

I really worry about it. It is not crazy. There is about to be disruption to food supply, etc. Scary as hell

As a Christian I don't worry, but it is definitely something I pray about. We need to think about this when voting for our local and national leaders.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

If you’re not terrified then you’re not paying attention imo.

Massive, continued immigration from the Third World.

Unlike global warming, this is a real problem AND it is possible to do something about it. Except you don't want to, because your crazed ideology insists muh diversity is strength.

It's more than likely the most devastating impacts of GW will be social and political upheaval. If you're worried about massive immigration, all the more reason to be worried about global warming.

Absolutely. And all the plastic we generate. Every baby item is wrapped in plastic and it is totally unnecessary.

I also don't get the trend to have 3 or more kids. Seems really egotistical and selfish.
