Robert Foster, GOP governor candidate, denies woman reporter access because of her gender

Smart move. The Pence rule works out well and when all of these scandals and fake #metoo allegations pop up he can't be liable.

I won't have a women in my office without a male in there. Door is always open, another person to witness and nothing can be said against me. I have a lot of people report to me and I'm not risking my career.

He is requiring another man be present when he is traveling with this woman.
That is not a woman being chaperoned.

I think you know not the meaning of the word.

Let's clear it up, shall we?

I will say it again.... he wasn't saying she needed to be chaperoned. He was not seeking someone to supervise HER. He wanted another person there for HIS sake. To protect HIS reputation.

You people are totally unhinged.

In other words HE needs a chaperone apparently at all times. Why make it just with women?

What if a man accuses you? It does happen to know. Best to install a video camera in your office and ask for a full time guard.

What’s to stop the reporter from accusing both the candidate and his male chaperone of harassing her?

He didn't refuse her access. He told her that a male colleague would need to be present. Nothing at all wrong with that.

In this #MeToo era, one just cannot be too careful. Good for him.

Oh really, just an allegation? Donald is still in the White House with a couple dozen credible allegations, so...

Also, why do you want a compulsory Christian nation? Why are you bent on enforcing biblical baloney rather than expecting men not to rape? That’s what you’re saying, isn’t it? Men can’t be trusted so women should be chaperoned as they had to be in biblical days?

DP. That you’ve twisted this entirely shows you have no grasp whatsoever of why a man might insist on not being alone with an unrelated woman in today’s climate. Hint: it has nothing to do with the Bible. That’s ok. Keep your head in the sand.

Oh, FFS.
"Compulsory Christian nation?" Who the hell said anything about that.
Let me clarify for you what I am saying.............

He did not want to give any appearance of impropriety. He did not want to have to defend himself against false allegations from his competition. He did not want to have to defend himself from rumors that might be started. It is THAT simple.

You are unhinged.

It's not like women like to make frivolous claims and undergo the media and public scrutiny.

At first I thought you were being facetious, but sadly I see you’re serious. That you still believe there aren’t women who do exactly that - make frivolous claims - means you’re part of the problem. I don’t blame him one bit. That’s what happens when women see a #metoo moment around every corner.
-a woman

No one would voluntarily put themselves through it unless it was real. Who was the last one to credibly be frivolous?

Leave it to liberals to paint the narrative that he is choosing to make this decision because HE can't control himself.

It is thanks to the #BelieveHer at all costs movement that has forced men to make decisions like this.

He is protecting himself. I can't blame him.

Oh, FFS indeed.

If a guy doesn’t want to give any appearance of impropriety, don’t treat women different than you treat men. Don’t comment on a woman’s appearance. Don’t imply she’s less of a professional just because she’s in possessor a uterus and a vagina. Don’t caress her. Don’t give hugs. Don’t make gross sex jokes. Don’t sexually harass her. Don’t sexually assault her. See? This is easy, and it’s 100% within a man’s control.

That he needs to have women chaperoned in his presence doesn’t say he’s careful, it suggests he ought to locked up in a sex offender’s unit in prison. He’s admitting he can’t control himself.

False. He’s making damn sure no false allegations will be made about him, which would be easy do if he was alone with the reporter - especially a reporter who clearly has an agenda against him to begin with.
