Group Fitness Class Pet Peeves

If you stink enough that I can smell you anywhere in the room there's no way you're not award of it and it's inconsiderate. I take early morning orangetheory classes and there are a few people who always roll in smelling terrible. I dread them choosing the station next to me. I understand getting a waft of BO now and then as the class heats up, but if you smell like ass before the class even starts, you're doing something wrong. Rinse off before class (or even the night before!), wash your butt, apply fresh deodorant, and wear clean workout clothes.

Have you ever been in a class with the guy that reeks of weed?

Yoga-specific: people who walk into the studio wearing their shoes and people who talk or pack up during savasana.

Re wearing a face full of makeup.... Who cares?! Maybe they're coming from work. I work out in makeup all the time. I'm not going to take the extra step of washing my face before class. Who's got time for that?!

PP here - I feel you. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the people that show up to class on a weekend morning, full face of makeup and $500 worth of exercise clothes, clearly there to see and be seen rather than actually working out.

Honestly, who cares? If someone shows up in make-up and workout clothes that are more expensive than my work clothes, good for them. Why does that bother you? It doesn't affect your workout, does it. I understand the pet peeves about people who show up late and crowd out those of us who get there early to set up; or the pet peeves about people who show up smelling like ass, but showing up in makeup? Eh. you do you.

I’m usually late for class. I work in the Dulles corridor and traffic is what it is. I have 50-60 mins to work out before I have to pick up my kid in DC. I’ll be damned if I pay a late cancellation fee because it annoys others that I can’t time traffic and street parking to ensure I’m on time every class. Group classes are expensive enough.
