I like old lady/old man names for dogs. However many of my previous favorites are now becoming popular again! For example, I used to like Hazel. I will add that my own kid has a top 10 name for his birth year, but somehow I want my dog to have an unpopular name.

I will suggest Edith, and Ethel as names that seem to be staying in the old lady category.

Because you’ll be saying it, including calling it loudly in public, for 12-15yrs.

Agree with PPs that it’s fun to tie to something you like.
Mocha, Latte or Coffee (I know pets with all these names)
Sandy, Sunny, or similar if you are beach people
Stormy, Stella/Star, Luna, Sunny, Lightening for a weather theme
Pick a cute, simple female name. I know dogs named Bella, Lucy, Riley, Rosie and Sally

I just read ALL of the responses. Thanks to everyone. Considering a lot of them. Will likely narrow to 3 and let kids decide of those pre-approved. Will be sure to update with the decision tomorrow! I have so much anxiety and excitement - probably won’t sleep much!
(Puppy is a very light colored cockapoo.)
