Needing a (not cutesy) female dog name ASAP!

Bringing home puppy tomorrow, and we just decided we are NOT going to let our kids name her since she will probably end up with a dumb cutesy name. So we need the name before we present puppy to the kids. I have a few names I love, but hubby isn’t agreeing. Please list your suggestions! Thanks so much.

I have a friend who names her dogs great, long names but the family "calls" the dog by single-syllable nicknames.

Examples:

Triple Expresso: Esso
Amsterdam Below the Sea, Amma
La Raza de Catalunya, Raza

This might be one way you and your husband compromise. Agree on the nickname used when you call her, and have a longer name for the vet records.

We went with the town she came from when we couldn’t agree on a name. Fortunately it’s a good dog’s name.

Talk to a trainer. I know I've read that dogs respond to different hard and soft syllables so certain names are better for training.

Not PP but this is common for AKC registered dogs.
