Needing a (not cutesy) female dog name ASAP!

Examples:

Triple Expresso: Esso
Amsterdam Below the Sea, Amma
La Raza de Catalunya, Raza

This might be one way you and your husband compromise. Agree on the nickname used when you call her, and have a longer name for the vet records.

Those are great examples of single-syllable nicknames .. with two syllables!

For example, when my kids were small they were really into the penguins of Madagascar. So our dog ended up being named Rico. (one of the penguins). We have a cat named Elvis.

When I was a kid our cat was named Scooby. These are silly names, but not cutesy names.

Just set ground rules. Let everyone suggest names, but decide on how the final decision is made.

We have a cat named Hermione.

See now that only works if its a baby bulldog. Although I agree - cutest name ever for a dog.
