| Fellow teacher here. Get over your white savior complex. Eat a lunch. Go for walk. I promise your kids will be okay if eat lunch and take time to workout at night/morning. |
| You can do it! Sounds like you are already intermitting fasting during the school year. Try to keep it going into the summer. |
I’m not white. I was the kid who needed a place to do my homework during lunch because my home was chaotic at best and at worst had no lights. But thanks! —OP |
Thank you. I’ve done this a few days this summer and I think the key for the fall will be toggling my eating window. |
Does FCPS even assign homework anymore? I've read extensive articles that homework is racist. |
I don’t teach in FCPS. But I don’t think assigning HW is racist. Obviously, a specific assignment can be racially insensitive. And some very young children may not have adults who can help. But I have seen that as much in highly-stressed white MC households as in poor families of color. You might ask on one of the public school forums. I’d rather not hijack this one with a debate on the merits of giving homework. |

I'm disappointed to report that I haven't lost anything despite continuing with intermittent fasting, exercising 4-5x/week (yoga/weights/walking), and cutting out processed foods. I'm also eating takeout and restaurant food a lot less frequently since I now have the time and energy to make myself a salad or something else healthy. I don't understand what's going on. My body fat percentage hasn't even decreased as per my Fitbit scale. I took out the peanuts I was snacking on at night (tons of fat and calories) and replaced them with sparkling water and nothing. I'm discouraged.
p.s. I have Hashimoto's and just got my lab work done and all levels are fine and my doctor lets me be on the lower end of fine. |
