I've read extensive articles that homework is racist.[/quote] I don’t teach in FCPS. But I don’t think assigning HW is racist. Obviously, a specific assignment can be racially insensitive. And some very young children may not have adults who can help. But I have seen that as much in highly-stressed white MC households as in poor families of color. You might ask on one of the public school forums. I’d rather not hijack this one with a debate on the merits of giving homework.[/quote]
