Disagree. Bullis teachers are as good as any I’ve seen. The academics, plus a balance of strong athletics, arts, and service are nothing new. I think it’s more important that it works for today’s students meeting their needs than it pass a test of historical consistency on an anonymous message board.

But because of its identity flux, there is no core that guides the mission of the school. Sure, it is fine today, but who is to say the next head won't push it more in one direction at the expense of other aspects of the school. It isn't something the parent community, particularly of younger kids, can count on. That flux has been a constant since at least the 1970's.

I am a parent whose heart breaks for those good teachers who are leaving or looking for other jobs because of the way the school is run. We all know what happened in the fall of this year and it took its toll. Not sure it ever got better. Not sure if we will stay after this coming year. I have to believe that there are better run schools in the DMV.

I live near Bullís and drive by all the time. From outside the school looks great but I have never seen/read any good academic
accomplishment or honors(PSAT,SAT,ACT,NHS,etc) of anybody from the school.

What the poster meant is that the school is beautiful but their is NO substance inside. I had kids there and academics are bad. You never hear of anything good coming out of the school except athletes. It is sad what has become of the school. I do hope that the new Head can turn it around before they go bankrupt.

She's saying that the campus looks lovely when she drives by but never sees Bullis mentioned when the local press posts NMSF or presidential scholars or virtually any other regional or national academic awards.
