He elbowed her?
That’s not assault.
You’re a twit. Decent people don’t shove their wives down the stairs, especially in front of their 3 year old child. Just trash does that. Court records say Cilento and his wife got into an argument Sunday. The wife tried to console their 3-year-old daughter, when she felt a “sharp shoulder|elbow shove,” the records say. She was pushed down concrete stairs, and she suffered a scrape on her right elbow, soreness on her rib cage and a bruise on her left knee, the court records say. “The three year old then asked, ‘Is Mommy OK?’ and said, ‘Daddy hurt Mommy,’” according to the report. Cilento then left taking the couple’s 6-year-old with him, the records say. A second-degree assault conviction carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail and a fine of $2,500.
She fell not holding the daughter and she filed the report not officers, so this is only her perspective. Every story has 2 sides. What if he was holding the daughter and she was going after him. Maybe he nudged her with his shoulder to keep her back and protect his child. Just saying maybe before we judge we should get the full story and let all the information come out.
BS. She was assaulted and unfortunately has a witness. This isn’t the 80’s anymore where you can do the ‘he said she said’ thing. What gross behavior.
I promise you we are all going to rue the day we allowed angry people to holler "Guilty" after hearing a charge and demand punishment before any sort of legal due process. It's insane. It's Alice in Wonderland in real life. |

Charges will be dropped before July.

| What is the point of this forum if every post discussing broader concerns about the leadership at Bullis is deleted? |
The headmaster is leaving. The Bullis community has had the opportunity to speak up about what they desire in a new headmaster and I am a parent that has spoken up about putting education first. I also spoke up about how we should be putting our arts program in the forefront, as it is underrated and takes a back seat to sports. I am a parent of a non-athlete at Bullis and my child is very happy at the school. He gets upset when he hears people speak bad, because what he hears people say is not his experience. I know numerous families, along with myself, who seriously dislike the current head, but we are hopefully as his work at Bullis is done and over with. Domestic violence is nothing to joke about or make light of. I hope that the coach is gone next year, so please don't say all Bullis families are okay with this. Most that I know are not. |
There's a very active hall monitor on this site that reports just about anything negative said about Bullis. |
Half of this discussion is missing. I read these boards when we made the truly terrible decision to send our child into this toxic environment. It would have been more than nice to know that then. |
Can you tell us more about why your experience there was so bad? |
| is the current headmaster gone this summer or is he back for one more year? |
| That link is 5 years old. Bullis, like every other non-religious organization exempt from income tax, is required to file a Form 990 with the IRS. The latest one available publicly is from the year ending 6/30/2017. As part of that filing, they are required to provide compensation information for their highest compensated employees. For the head of school, those figures were $561K in base compensation, $60K in bonus, $27K in other reportable compensation, $34K in deferred compensation, $64K in non-taxable benefits for a total of $746K. |

The hasn’t had an identity for decades. One decade it tries to go the academic route, the next decade it becomes supper sports driven. It’s been like this for the past 30 years.
The current headmaster is the worst and the school might as well depart ways and promote an interim head from within while they conduct a search. This past year alone has been a black eye for several faculty members. |
It really is a HOT mess. Don't forget about how they sweep things under the rug for athletes too. They can sexually abuse women, lie, steal, etc. But, at the end of the day they aren't really there to be good citizens. Just good athletes. NO moral compass there on Falls Road. |
I do not know if the poster who said he lives on campus is correct, but generally speaking, you cannot have couples living on campus getting into domestic disputes, calling the cops and going down to the station to write up one another. That is not going to work at most schools that provide faculty housing. |
It's been like that more than 50 years. I can't speak to longer than that. |
| What do most heads of school make? Is it more for K-12 or based on enrollment? |
Disagree. Bullis teachers are as good as any I’ve seen. The academics, plus a balance of strong athletics, arts, and service are nothing new. I think it’s more important that it works for today’s students meeting their needs than it pass a test of historical consistency on an anonymous message board. |
