Really? All this time I thought it was George Jefferson and specialized in dry cleaning.

No.... George Jefferson HS is on the East Side.

I am sure many of those kids are hard workers but many won’t be, in a school that big there is almost as many dropouts as magnet kids.

Wow, that's short sighted and snobby. Has it ever occurred to you that some of these kids may be the "poorer" kids, and even if not, they can earn something from being around kids of all walks of life. One of those kids worked hard at school but did not get in the MS magnet. She studied like crazy doing AOPS on her own and getting onto TPMS mathcounts and is now at Blair magnet.

I went in to volunteer one day and was impressed with the politeness of all the Blair students and how such a huge cross-section of race/culture/SES seemed to all work together and respect one another.

Perhaps, that was true 20-30 years ago, not sure, but these days it's not accurate. Further, as someone posted elsewhere Blair makes TJ their b**ch in every actual comparison.

Which part isn’t true? Blair is getting poorer and higher farms. Some middle class for sure but no one would call the university Blvd corridor a nice part of town

LOL
You’re too dumb and clueless to even deserve an answer.

Wow! You are really afraid of kids from underprivileged homes? Why would you like to send your kid into elitist school that give your kid no experience of real world and real life and teaches a life in a normal world and respect everyone for who they are. How challenging really is life with all overprivileged kids?
Such a narrow experience for a child. It is like a golden cage with glass window. You are isolating your kid from what exactly? Other people? Because they come from lower income zipcodes? That is rich.

Blair's 2018 SAT average was like 50 points higher than any W.

W parents went crazy when that little tidbit came out. Before they could only point at the SAT scores to show they were better. Now that Blair scores shot up, they are sh$##ing on themselves. Their only advantage has disappeared.

One year the Blair SAT spiked in a self reported non-Scientific collected report and the parents act like they won the World Series. They don’t talk about the 50 years previously where it hovered around the bottom of the county or the likelihood that the at a glance comes up with a lower number for an apples to apples comparison. We shall see then won’t we. Some Blair generated self-reported by students doesn’t seem like something I would count on to heavily when bragging. I bet they didn’t even ask the majority of the real Blair kids.

And I wonder why don't they brag about how superior the students from Blair class 2018 are, compared to other Blair students. That is the real comparison: that report - if they really trust it - showing a spike in Blair students of class 2018 (meaning: MUCH BETTER than previous BLAIR students), yet no comparison can be made to any other HS in the county where nothing is being reported yet.

The only arrest records we have seen are from the w schools, where there are drug dealers.
Folks, be careful if you have kids in the w schools. The may become victims of drug deals going bad i.e. got ran over by drug dealers cars.

I read a teacher was arrested at a W the other day too. Those schools have a different scandal every other week these days.

Just remember that no matter how bad it is, those parents still chose going there rather than sending their kids to Blair or any DCC school with your kids which would be much cheaper for them. Just about every person who owns zoned for the W’s could afford one of if not the nicest houses zoned for any DCC school. Considering how most people in the DCC schools can’t afford the W’s, you just sound bitter and jealous
