Ok Svetlana, we all know Russia is on every comments section in the US trying to push their right wing agents. BUT YOUR GRIFTER SVENGALI IS GOING TO JAIL. Oh, and I like Kavanaugh that was a great vote on Planned Parenthood. Can you say SOUTER?? |
I vote Democratic and lean progressive but I would be ecstatic if the Supreme Court finally rules that race based affirmative action is unconstitutional. It’s also dysfunctional (AA millionaires’ kids are considered ‘diverse’ admits, and some white kids conveniently discover their hidden Hispanic heritage in time for college applications). Finally it violates MLK’s character over skin color moral call. |
Exactly why I have lost all respect for Harvard's admission process. Besides being race baiters they are also blatant viewpoint discriminators |
My daughter with top stats wrote about how she campaigned as a pro-life activist and convinced ten teenage girls not to terminate their pregnancies.. Yale was so impressed, they admitted her.... Told her that her leadership and initiative story moved them to tears. Oh.. Wait..... That's just fantasy..... Sorry. |
I thought all you conservatives were for freedom. I guess except when you are disadvantaged by it. |
For those who say ivies don’t take multiple kids from a school, look at this

What a relief! |
You’re a bizarre person. |
Who ever said this, particularly with respect to top independent schools with many legacy kids from HYP. Stanford is missing, maybe because there were no legacies or athletes they wanted from that class. |
What were test scores and GPA? Did she have a rigorous course load? I guess I am asking is was she otherwise qualified? |
I don't know her, but from what has been reported I think she was otherwise qualified. But, agree with her politics or not, she is a force and I think has earned her place in the class of 2023. From an October 2018 Vanity Fair profile of her: "...In fairness, Jackie has always been an over-achiever. Until high school, she was serious about dance. She did tap, jazz, and hip-hop, but her passion was pointe. “Dance was my life and my love,” she said. But she gave it up in high school, to focus on her studies and student government. As a junior, she took on five A.P. courses, though valedictorian was out. “Sophomore year I got one B-plus,” she told me. “It was my one B-plus my entire life.” She wasn’t going to let that happen again." https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2018/09/parkland-gun-laws-march-for-our-lives-jaclyn-corin |
^^ The article later says that her grades did drop because of her activism work, from all As to some Bs, and that she will graduate in the top 15% of her class, not the 1% she was in before.

There are plenty of ordinary high achieving kids getting into Ivys. Plenty of conservative and libertarian kids getting into Ivys. If your kid didn't get it, well, it might be because they're just not good enough. Or because you just aren't good enough as a parent. After all, it's YOUR fault they aren't a legacy. |
Did she have a Vanity Fair article written about her? https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2018/09/parkland-gun-laws-march-for-our-lives-jaclyn-corin |
Just heard Harvard took 19 kids from a school in the northeast... |
