It doesn't really matter since any number good enough to get into LT or Tyler Spanish is probably also getting you into Maury IB.

You also won't get into Payne. PK3 has been filled with IB kids for several years. A few (but not most) OOB siblings got in this year because they had to expand to 3 classrooms to handle all the early action IB kids. They are off the early action list this year which means less hope for OOB kids.

I would put only Maury, SWS, CHML, Miner, and Appletree LP. Forget the rest. You’ll get into either Maury or Miner or Appletree, and it sounds like those are the most convenient. Don’t overthink or over complicate.

This is not necessarily true. We did not get into any of these three for PK3 two years ago or our IB (Brent).

Not even off the waitlist for Miner or Appletree? Did you get into somewhere you ranked higher than Miner or Appletree? Both of those go deep into their waitlists.

Nope. We had a very bad number. We got waitlist offers from Apple tree SW and OK.

Nope. We had a very bad number. We got waitlist offers from Apple tree SW and OK.

And we did pull off the waitlists in late September or so because we decided to stay private so maybe we would have eventually.

Miner still has 50 something on its WL and AT LP more than that still. I think you’re thinking of 2-3 years ago. PK3 odds have changed considerably as more Brent/Maury/Peabody families have decided Miner and AT LP are good enough if they don’t get into their IBs and almost all IB Miner families now use the PK3 if they don’t get something better.

My DD’s PK3 class at Miner has more OOB UMC students from elsewhere on the Hill than OOB from upper NE or the other side of the river. I was shocked.
