Republicans want a Potemkin hearing for Christine Blasey Ford

Anonymous
So these things have always been rigged for political gains. The Dems want to delay the hearing for as long as possible and the Republicans want to get it over with as quickly as possible. I think the republicans will push this forwards as quickly as they can. It will be a party line vote and he will be confirmed. I do not see one republican breaking ranks.

The FBI should investigate or Kavanaugh could just withdraw his nomination so the Republicans can put forth someone who doesn't have this controversy. Easy peasy.

The idiot left will try to character assassinate anyone to protect this dumb swing seat. Frankly that this is the worst they could dig up says great things about his character.

The idiot right started this whole witch hunt with their "character counts" movement.

I don’t care who started it. And frankly Democrats started the Supreme Court nonsense with Bork. In any event I’ll vote for who I think will end it.

Yea.. that was way after the Rs started it. You may not care, but the Repubs do. You watch, they will apply the "moral standards" to a Dem nominee if that should ever arise.

It's the hypocrisy that I'm pointing out. They started it, they can end it by applying their moral standards equally starting with Kavanaugh.

Well they didn’t morally assassinate Garland. They used the congressional rules to thwart him. Frankly I have more respect for that approach.

Yes, they could do that because they were in the majority, not because they were ethical rocket scientists.

You need a code of conduct not to pull someone into a bedroom, climb on top, grind against her, fondle her, and cover her mouth? Holy crap dude. You need help.

I’m actually a woman. Have you been to parties with drunk teenagers? It’s not a genteel gathering. People act ridiculous, both women and men. They flirt, they grind, whatever. I have no idea what happened and, based on what’s been said so far, I don’t care. #enoughalready

DP, you seem to still be suggesting that the presence of any of what you listed justifies taking it several steps further.

I’m not suggesting that. I can’t know what happened. It was a ridiculous amount of time ago. Let the lady testify and say whatever she wants and let’s move on. This thread is about whether the goddamn FBI should investige! No, they should not.

F*ck you.

And if a man came out now and said Kavanaugh beat him up outside a bar when he was 20, everyone would want it investigated to at the very least, go away.

If a man claimed that 30 years ago Kavanaugh stole 10K from him, everyone would want it investigated. It wouldn't even be a QUESTION. Even if Kavanaugh denied it.

No, they wouldn’t. They’d be like why didn’t you report that the statute of limitations has passed and no one would care.

Not true. There could be reasons why people wouldn't have reported it at the time.

People would care, and it would be investigated and quickly wrapped up if it was thought to be unfounded.

I wouldn’t care but I guess you’re just a sensitive soul.

I have expectations for people seeking high office, particularly in the Judicial branch.

I expect all branches of government to be populated by very flawed humans and deal with that by trying to limit the authority of the government.

Are you suggesting eliminating or decreasing the size of the judiciary?

In the context of the judiciary, it’s means appoint those with less activist philosophies.

So then try to find a so-called originalist who doesn't have all this baggage. Surely there must be one?

That's, like, your opinion, Man.

Accuser’s HS yearbook has leaked:

http://cultofthe1st.blogspot.com/2018/09/why-christine-blasey-fords-high-school_19.html

Scribe 84 is the yearbook for her senior year. Her name was Christine Blasey in high school, often referred to as “Chrissy”. In the image below, Blasey is pictured at a Halloween party in her junior year. The caption on the right says:

“Lastly one cannot fail to mention the climax of the junior social scene, the party. Striving to extend our educational experience beyond the confines of the classroom, we played such intellectually stimulating games as Quarters, Mexican Dice and everyone’s favorite, Pass-Out, which usually resulted from the aforementioned two.”

Scribe 82, pg. 260, shows racy images, including three minors dressed provocatively as Playboy bunnies. The caption states:

“Beach week culminated the year for those of us lucky enough to go. With school and our minds in temporary recess, we were able to release all those troubling inhibitions of the past year. While dancing in the middle of coastal Highway, Ann [redacted last name] and friends picked up some men who passed out in their apartment…”

Does the yearbook say anything specifically about Ford?

Umm, does this show that Mark Judge's biography is false? Or that Kavanaugh didn't drink in HS? It certainly doesn't show that the boys at GP behaved well.

This isn’t baggage. It’s not about Kavanugh. It’s about the swing seat. The left will attempt to delay on anyone.

Are those Blasey's quotes? Are the pics of her?

Kavanaugh had plenty of baggage throughout this whole process, before these allegations were known. Even how he was tapped for the nomination is shady.

UHHHH, attacking girls for the choice of attire is not the argument you want to make. Regardless of what she decided to wear, boys/men are responsible for their actions.

Wait, he said he wasn't there (wherever there was) and it didn't happen, but you are saying they just bumped into each other in a drunken blather? Ok then.

According to her friends, Ford sleeps in a bedroom with two doors so that she always has an escape route.
